I knit almost everyday or whenever I'm not that busy. My favorite piece is my bag made of brown sheep yarn. Ahh! I'm doing it a little differently, but the heart of helping the homeless is the same. In September I knitted a hat a day for the October fall festival in our town. I sold about 30 hats and donated the proceeds ($1,000+) to a local charity. I am now on a campaign to knit a hat a day (or really 365 hats in a year) until the next fall festival. I always use wool in my hats because after knitting them I felt them. They sold easily at $30 to $50 depending on the yarns and embellishments used. I'd like to see similar campaigns going on across the U.S. These are tough times; we can all help a little.Hats for Helping the Homelesshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18117853679151154470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1103134439475076913.post-30165468254893265402010-07-10T11:26:50.256-05:002010-07-10T11:26:50.256-05:00I was there, from Longmont, Colorado for GA. What fun, and what a unique and special LYS!

I made three hats at GA for the drive - one blue watchcap (contributed at StevenBes) a maroon tam left for Donna at the GA volunteers, and a second blue watchcap that is in the mail. I'm happy to help warm folks on those cold Minnesota streets this winter.Kathrynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00419567007235819703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1103134439475076913.post-73139862956982900822010-05-31T18:05:11.894-05:002010-05-31T18:05:11.894-05:00Only knit hats?
